Date & Time: Tuesday 20 September 09.00-13.00
Objective: The aim of the course is to show methods and applications for relative information / compositional data. The participants should get basic knowledge on the problems and should be able to apply compositional methods on selected data sets.
General description: Many data sets in Geostatistics are of compositional nature and standard statistical methods should not be applied on the raw data sets. The course starts with some examples and example data sets before basic methods in compositional data analysis are applied. The course ends by showing applications.
Required back-ground knowledge: basic knowledge in multivariate statistical methods
Software / R packages required: R package robCompositions
Literature: For the course too mathematical orienented: http://www.sediment.uni-goettingen.de/staff/tolosana/extra/CoDa.pdf . Papers will be distributed during the workshop. No need to read books/papers beforehand.
