Objective: get familiar with spatial and spatio-temporal model with R-INLA.
In the three lectures we will:
- introduce the basic concepts of Bayesian inference and hierarchical modeling
- introduce the basic ideas of the Integrated Nested Laplace Approximation (INLA) approach and present the main features of the R-INLA package
- show how to implement spatial and spatio-temporal model for areal (i.e. discrete in space) data using R-INLA
In the practical we will provide the attendees with some data in order to apply the methods presented during the lectures.
Required back-ground knowledge: R knowledge is required.
